FEEL GOOD MEALS
Every other week, Survivor Strong shares their favorite feel good recipes. These recipes will be primarily plant based, sometimes with meat options. Recipes will also be mindful of inflammatory foods for the many survivors that have auto-immune diseases or other chronic health conditions triggered by trauma.
This year, Survivor Strong will also host monthly meals for survivors to sit around and laugh together while they fill their tummies with delicious healthy foods. Eating together, breaking bread at the same table, is one of the best ways to form community and grow together.
Have a recipe or an idea for an upcoming feel good community meal? We would love to hear from you! Send your favorite comfort foods to email@example.com and your recipe could be featured on our blog or at an event!
SIMPLE SELF CARE
Beginning February 25th, Survivor Strong will host self-care circles for survivors and allies in the greater Lansing area. At these bi weekly healing and self care circles, Survivor Strong will lead activities based in self-expression, self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-love.
Full of soft seating, calm music, crafts, and good vibes, our HART (healing and respite time) room is the perfect location for survivors of sexual assault to form community and heal together, while making feel good crafts that will aid in future self care.
This year, Survivor Strong will also host more talk based support circles in our HART Room. Our advocate has already been providing direct advocacy services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence, and will soon be providing the same services in a group setting. We can’t wait to provide the safe space we know so many survivors are longing for.
Soothing Soaps: Our Very First Self-Care Circle!

In partnership with The Firecracker Foundation, we will also host group yoga and meditation in their welcoming, safe, soulful space.
